Dream Big
Thank you for visiting our blog. We will be using this as our monthly update and newsletter to all of you who are prayerfully and financially supporting us as we plant the church here in Oceanside, CA. Feel free to forward this site to anyone interested in our work here.
I would like to first start by saying thank you to all of our partners, we literally could not do what we are doing here without your support.
As many of you know Liz and I have never thought, acted, believed, or hoped small. It is not our desire in this walk of obiedience before the Lord to honor Him by squeezing every once of faith out of us we can! We believe dreams and visions are the language of the Holy Spirit so we are commited to dreaming to our maximum. With that said we are excited to let you our friends and family know about some of the great things happening at Mission right now:
1. We have 14 Cells open as of this week – The bible says in Acts 2:47 that the Lord added to the Church daily – and if the church is not being the church daily we can not fulfill this promise.
2. We are in the process of helping another church plant out of our church (yes I said plant) I know weve just started but this is not something were talking about its what were doing! We believe were called to advance the kingdom.
3. We were originally planning on launching a second campus in the city based upon a couple of water-marks but when the Lord gives us a prophetic vision its not our job to filter His word through our logic – for logic aposes faith so as of February 17 Mission will have two campuses – “City” on Sunday mornings and “Oceanside” on Sunday nights!
Our family is doing amaizing, everyday is stretching our faith more and we are greatful for it! Chase was student of the month in December, Zoe in January, Chandler now plays the drums and the guitar and is dreaming of leading worship for Mission someday, he and I just got done talking about his budhist friend, Jason, He is “working on” winning to the Lord! Please continue to pray for us, our church, our disciples, our pastors (Cesar and Claudia Castellanos) and our finances. Bless you and come visit – its 70 our today!
We love you! - Shannon, Liz, Chandler, Chase, Zoe

I would like to first start by saying thank you to all of our partners, we literally could not do what we are doing here without your support. Were excited to let you all know that this will be our first week out of our living room. We will holding our service at Hope Chapel here in Oceanside at 6:00 pm on Sunday nights. They have been so gracious to open their doors to our church, were sure this will be a financial blessing to them in addition to a great blessing to our church, as it will increase our exposure, make more room, not to mention relieve a little wear and tear on our home. Its been great to see the Lord do His thing with our lives as we have continued to submit to this process. Oh yeah, to add to the list of great things the Lord is going to get the glory for as the enemy continues to confirm were supposed to be here. I found out from our bank on Thursday that someone is doing business under my Social Security Number! Were not sweating it, please pray for us as were sure God’s blessing coming from this will be greater than anything anyone has stolen from us! And the greatest part of this entry is, by January 1st were going to have 15 cells open. That means almost every night of the week Mission is wining the lost and making disciples! Thank you all, and Thank you Jesus! Merry Christmas

So sorry we have not updated for a while. Between preaching, shopping for a building, being evacuated because of the fires, and the Game show (dont ask about it, it was great and I’m not allowed to talk about it) weve been a little busy!
Well, weve been saying since we came here “many are the plans of a mans heart but the Lord’s hand prevails”. We had a plan to launch on the 21st of October but due to the struggle of finding a building and recieving the proper approvals to even have a church here in Oceanside and because the fire evacuations caused the school district to postpone their board meeting untill the 13th of this month we were not able to launch on our planned date. And now due to the boards meeting date, the soonest we would be able to launch would be the weekend of Thanksgiving. And unfortunatley the holiday season is not a wise time to launch a church. Which means we are targeting the second weekend of January for our launch.
With that said please dont feel bad for us! Because, we’ve started. We havent promoted (with publications) but we are meeting every week, winning people to the Lord, discipling those the Lord gives us and we even had our first babptism. And here is the best, it is the heart of Liz and I that we empower people to be the ministers there called to be, so our fisrt babptism was done by Mellisa Bixler down at the ocean. It was awesome!
Please pray for us, the engien on Liz’s car blew up last week and were 5k miles over our warranty. There saying its going to be 6k to 8k and well, we need a miracle.
We are so excited about God is doing. We are in the middle of our week of consecration. We are meeting every night this week and had a great time of prayer last night. Liz and her girls stayed up and prayed until 2 or 3 this morning. There on it!
We love you all! We miss many of you! Have a wonderful thanks giving!
I challenge you to build an ark out of your life. All around you everyday are those who are drowning in the storms of life – and YOU my friend are their life boat!

The last 45 days have been an incredible journey as God is obviously writing the story of our life!
We have had the awsome opportunity to minister at various churches.
We’ve continued to reach out to our neighbors and our comunity.
Our launch team is making their way here. And I’m stoked how God is blessing them!!!
We have negotiated a deal on a building, were just seeking the Lord on if its the right one.
The Youth Pastors of the fastest growing church in the world from Bogata Columbia (they have 60k youth every week in a soccer stadium) spent the 4th with us along with a bunch of other great friends.
I brough my mother down for a weekend to travel with us to hot as hell Yuma AZ for a leadership conference at Generations church.
My boys have been shreading waves, while my wife and daughter grow more beautiful everyday!
We were in the wedding of one of my disciples Alex Evans and his beautiful wife JaNay.
My daughter sang on the stage at disneyland.
Weve been mtg. every Wednesday night training our launch team in the G12 vision.
We have actually started unoficially mtg. on Sunday mornings, its been awesome!
My kids start their new school next week, yes Zoe starts school…..
I’m more in love with my wife than Ive ever been in my life.
The call of God on our life has never been so real.
I could make a list an hour long of all the great things that have happened and are happening but the greatest thing that happened recently was when I took my two boys with me to visit Sheldon Koch at a camp on Big Bear Mnt. Sheldon ministered on the the Holy Spirit. And my boys with tears in their eys and hands lifted to Jesus were touched by His love that night. After I asked them what happend and Chandler told me the Holy Spirit gave him the gift to be loved by God! And Chase told me the Holy Spirit gave him the gift to love and the gift to surf. (No, thats not a typo – he said SURF)
And thats they greatest thing that happened this month. Thank you Jesus, thank you Holy spirit, thank Sheldon!
i leave this with you – When we were comanded to go to Jeruselem, Judea, Samaria, to the ends of the earth! Acts 1:8
Is it possible that your:
JERUSELEM – is your wife
JUDEA – your children
SAMARIA – your disciples (yes your’s were all called to have them – Mt. 28)
END OF THE EARTH – The lost your called to reach
May God’s face shine upon you!
Update
This is our June update,
Thank you for visiting our blog.
This has been a pretty hectic month as we have been gone for most of it. Zoe and Shannon left on June 9th for a week in Washington. They took part in the Masters Commission Graduation and stayed the rest of the week to attend Summer’s (Shannon’s sister) high school graduation. While they were there they had the opportunity to meet with a lot of our friends. The highlight was a night at the “Coffee Bar” in Puyallup where we met with a large portion of our launch team. We met about the vision of the church specifically “Consolidation” and the intentional plan we have to lead people from a desire to follow the Lord to a life long commitment to Him. (Thanks Marc and Bethany for opening your home and your wii to Zoe and I) We love you all!
After leaving Washington on the 17th we met up with Liz, Chandler & Chase in Virginia. They went ahead of us to attend Abigail’s (Liz’s sister) high shcool graduation. While we were all there we enjoyed time with Liz’s family, celebrated birthdays (Shannon, Liz’s mom and sister) and of course found our way to the beach where the boy’s shredded some waves. Shannon preached twice at Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Hampton Virginia where many people made a covenant to be people of devotion to the Lord!
We have spent a number of hours this month preparing for and assisting our launch team as they have begun to make their way south. We are excited to have them here and to have them join us in this step of faith. We are aggressively working our way through our launch strategy (see current strategy page). Liz, Shannon and the kids will be attending a one-day conference Saturday June 29. The conference will be hosted by Generations Church in Yuma, AZ and will be led by Pastor Ricardo from the G12 church in Bogotá Columbia, a cell church of over 300,000 members.
July will be exciting as more of the launch team will be arriving and we continue cast vision and prepare for the October launch service.
Thank you so much for your generous investment into our lives and vision. An added thank you to Tim and Debra for giving us an incredible keyboard for the church. So glad to have our friends John and Brandy be our guest in the new Kapp home, all are welcome. We love you all so much!
